Aarvak 100 years: Alex Rosen with an Arctic Ocean show – in his element!
Wednesday, August 29th at 7:00 PM at Ishavsmuseet
The Arctic ship Aarvak is 100 years old this year, and it will be marked throughout 2012 with various activities. The big anniversary weekend will be from August 29 to September 2, and will start with a visit from Alex Rosen.
In the summer of 2011, Alex Rosen visited the Ishavsmuseet on a private basis. The museum's large collection impressed Alex, but at the same time Alex himself was impressed with his great polar knowledge. It wasn't long before he joined the museum as a "guide".
Not many people may know that Alex Rosen has studied history, but most know him as an explorer, also by boat – and it is precisely with that background that the Ishavsmuseet and the ship Aarvak become the perfect setting for an Arctic ocean show with Alex Rosen on the move.
With Alex's visit, the Ishavsmuseet hopes to create engagement with polar history among an even wider audience.
This totally uncontrolled, slightly crazy man with a great sense of humor probably needs no further introduction. There is also a good chance that Alex will perform some self-selected hits in a familiar style, but first and foremost it is Alex with his infectious laugh who stands in front of the microphone this evening, with his humorous touches – and with an Arctic twist now and then.
Advance ticket sales at www.sjoborg.no from March 28th.
