There are many myths surrounding the history of lutefisk. How it came about, and how it was made. Lutefisk was first mentioned in literature in 1555, so it is not a new invention. Lutefisk is eaten all over Norway, in Sweden and parts of Finland, but the Danes don't eat lutefisk. They don't know what they are missing!
