New ISFLAK out for Christmas.

Isflaket no. 4-2013 has been published, and everyone who subscribes to this should have it in the mail before Christmas Eve rings. If you are not a member, you can sign up and get this issue + all of 2014 for NOK 250,- send an email to webjorn@ishavsmuseet.no

The "Christmas issue" of Isflaket is 76 pages long, and the contents include:

Ragnar Thorseth tells about his trip to the North Pole as the first Norwegian in 1982.

Asle Johansen says in an article that Arctic Canada could have been Norwegian territory.

Hjalmar Bjørkavåg writes about a trip to the White Sea in 1928, where the loss of ships was great that year.

In 1959, Professor Bjørn Berland was on the seal hunting ship "Brandal" in the Danish Strait, and contributed here with a great article about observations of the Håkjerring.

From Arctic skipper Bjørne Kvernmo we have an account of the seal hunt with "Havsel" in 2013.

The fourth and final part of Adolf Brandal's diary about wintering in Nordaust Greenland is also included.
