Polar evening on March 16th with lectures and dinner:
Børge Ousland – 30 years of polar expeditions
On Friday, March 16 at 7:00 PM, the Ishavsmuseet will be visited by Børge Ousland with the lecture "30 years of polar expeditions."
With solo trips to both the North and South Poles as well as crossings of both the Arctic and Antarctic, Børge Ousland has established himself as one of the leading polar explorers of our time.
In this talk, Børge Ousland shares highlights from his groundbreaking expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic over the past 30 years. Having crossed both the North Pole and the South Pole alone, sailed through both the Northeast and Northwest Passages, followed in the footsteps of Fridtjof Nansen and Hjalmar Johansen through Frans Josef Land, and skied to the North Pole in winter, Børge has shown what is possible with thorough planning, extreme determination, and the ability to find courage in seemingly hopeless situations.
After the lecture, a 2-course dinner will be served with roast musk ox with good side dishes, and homemade caramel pudding with coffee. Registration for dinner. Limited places.
Ticket lecture NOK 150,- Lecture and 2-course dinner NOK 400,-
