The restoration of Polarstar, May 1st at 3:00 PM

Norway's first steel seal catcher, the legendary Polarstar, went to Poland in December 2013 for restoration. On August 26 this year, the ship will return to Brandal after almost four years of painstaking restoration in Stettin. It is an incredible amount of work that has been carried out there during these years. All in close cooperation with the Norwegian Agency for Cultural Heritage. Polarstar, this white and strong lady of the Arctic Ocean, has just been docked for treatment below the waterline. On board the ship, work is constantly progressing, and you are slowly starting to see the work. What has been done on board, and how extensive this work was, you can see and hear more about at the Ishavsmuseet on Monday, May 1, when the owner and person responsible for the restoration of Polarstar will come to the museum to talk and show pictures from this restoration. Ishavsmuseet at 3:00 p.m.
