Balsfjord memories

Bjarne Harald Brobakk moved to Balsfjord as a little boy and eventually became very fond of this village at the very end of the fjord. He went to sea at the age of 15 and has spent his entire professional career at sea and in Svalbard. He has been on 19 seal hunting trips, has been on whaling trips and has been to the top of Rossøya, Europe's northernmost point.
Brobakk is very interested in history, focusing on local history from Balsfjord and the history of sealing and the Arctic islands in the north.
In this book, which is his second book, he shares his memories from Balsfjord and his years of seal hunting. In this book, Bjarne Harald Brobakk has interviewed a number of former people he met in Balsfjord and skippers and trappers from the Arctic Ocean. Here you can read their stories.
