On Midsummer Eve 2010, Børge Ousland and Thorleif Thorleifsson set sail from the Fram Museum in Oslo. The goal was to be the first to sail around the North Pole, through both the Northwest Passage and the Northeast Passage, in the same season. Four months later, the goal has been achieved. Their small trimaran had then overcome the ice-filled Arctic waters and both passages just before winter closed everything! With this book, Børge Ousland and Thorleif Thorleifsson write a new chapter in polar history, and at the same time demonstrate how frighteningly little sea ice there is in the Arctic now.
