Dangerous journey on the Sunnmøre coast

The Sunnmøre coast has always been a dangerous and capricious stretch of coast. In the book, Ole M. Ellefsen has collected stories from this stretch of coast, both deeply tragic events and stories of good seamanship, courage and determination in the fight against the forces of nature. Even though technology has improved, with sea markings, weather warnings, bigger and better boats, it is still about knowing how to be a seaman and risking your life to save others. Ole M. Ellefsen is the director of Aalesund Museum and editor of the Yearbook for the Sunnmøre Historical Society.
