Bjarne Harald Brobakk looks back on his own experiences from a long life on many ships at sea and in the Arctic Ocean in this book. He has been on 19 seal hunting trips, has shot 13 polar bears, has gone whale hunting, and has been to the top of Rossøya, Europe's northernmost point. He shares his memories from Balsfjord and Brandal, two Arctic districts that he has been a part of for many years. Brobakk is a keen storyteller, and he also contributes other polar history, and local history from Balsfjord to this book.
