The Gael Hamke Bugt and Young Sund areas contain almost all the best that Northeast Greenland has to offer: A magnificently varied nature and rich wildlife. An exciting and sometimes dramatic story. Today it is the central and most active region in Northeast Greenland. The famous military sled patrol Sirius has its headquarters in Daneborg. At the Zackenberg/Daneborg research stations, for more than 25 years, research has been carried out in nature and climate developments have been followed down to the smallest detail.

The book has been given the title GAEL HAMKE GUGT - YOUNG SUND, as it is through these fjords and their branches that you get further into a large ice-free land area, measuring approx. 100 km x 100 km – or in total approximately 10.000 km2. It is the third book in the series: "On discovery in Northeast Greenland".
