| Additional information | In 1916, the crew of the "Drot" came across an unmanned Russian trawler "Sapod", owned by the Russian Navy. The engineer of the "Drot" managed to start the engine of the "Sapod", and part of the crew of the "Drot" sailed it back to Hammerfest. Feddersen & Nissen, who were then the owners of the "Drot", received 100.000,- NOK from the Russian Navy for the salvage. Shipwreck in 1977: A fire broke out in the engine room while fishing at Cape Lee on Edgeøya. The ship sank, and the crew made it ashore and were rescued to Longyearbyen by helicopter. |
