Additional information

"Isrypa" went on its first seal hunt in 1950 to Austisen. They delivered 1201 seals worth 48.000,- NOK on a short first trip that lasted three weeks, and went on another trip and caught 1276 seals worth 42.000,- NOK.

In 1955, "Isrypa" had to break off the hunt a little earlier than planned and to assist the ship "Blåsel" which had broken its intermediate shaft. "Isrypa" towed "Blåsel" back to Båtsfjord, in changing weather where the tug broke down 5 times. "Isrypa" delivered 1000 seals worth NOK 48.831. They went out on trip no. 2 on May 6, also to Austisen, and returned home with 1622 seals worth NOK 62.400 on June 1.

In 1956, the ship had its last trip on a seal hunt and caught 1202 seals worth NOK 68.000. After this, the boat was used for fishing and shrimp fishing. It was during shrimp fishing that the boat caught fire and burned out near Svalbard on June 18, 1973. The crew was picked up by the shrimp trawler "Nøstvold"
