| Additional information | In 1928, the "Nyhav" rescued the crew of the "Artik" in Lake Kvitesjøen when it sank on April 24. Otherwise, it was a bad season and they returned home with only 18 seals after a hard season with a lot of ice drifting. With a new ownership structure in 1929, the ship's name was changed to "Polartind". Several reconstructions in the 1930s and 40s. In 1960, "Polartind" was engaged to map Soviet aircraft and ship traffic. There were several fishing boats and sealers at the time that were camouflaged for such missions. Intelligence equipment was taken aboard Haakonsvern. An intelligence agent also came aboard there. In 1960, "Polartind" was in the Vesterisen when the propeller shaft broke and "Salvator" had to tow them to Iceland for repairs. "Polartind" was condemned and sunk at Flåvær in 1967. |
